MD,. PhD. Chair Professor at South-Central Universities for Nationalities, Director of Wuhan Institute for Neuroscience and Neuroengineering (WINN), South-Central University for Nationalities, Director of Chinese Brain Bank Center (CBBC). I finished my medical study and was engaged in clinical works for several years in Anesthesiology and Neurosurgeon at the Medical College of Nanhua University, China. I obtained a master degree in Neurobiology from the Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and technology. Wuhan. China. I received my Ph.D. degree from the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience, the Netherlands. My research concerns the structure and function of neural circuits. A part of the research involves studies of axonopathy and dendropathy in relation to the neuropathological mechanism in Alzheimer’s disease. I became interested in biophotons and brain functions from 2007, and my research team have developed different techniques and devices, such as in situ biophoton autography (IBA), ultraweak biophoton imaging system (UBIS), and biophoton spectral analysis device (BSAD), to detect biophotonic activities, transmission and spectra in different special brains, which are related to the higher functions of nervous system, such as vision, learning and memory, intelligent, cognation and consciousness, and the mechanisms of human neurological and psychiatric diseases. Demonstration of biophotons as new potential neural signals may provide new ideas for quantum brain (quantum computing) and the development of artificial intelligence products and models of a functioning brain.
